Research In Motion’s (RIM) latest addition to the BlackBerry smartphone collection, the BlackBerry Curve, made its debut in Singapore on Tuesday 17 July 2007.
Hailed by RIM as the “smallest and lightest QWERTY BlackBerry handset”, the device is said to be a unique blend of communications and multimedia features that will be appropriate for both the consumer and enterprise market.
“The BlackBerry Curve brings together consumer-friendly features including a 2 megapixel camera, enhanced media player and high-performance browser, with RIM’s industry leading communications capabilities…to provide users with an exceptional mobile companion for both work and leisure,” said Norm Lo, vice president of Asia Pacific, RIM.
Notable features to look out for include the Roxio Media Manager, which was developed using the Roxio Easy Media Creator and introduces a new level of simplicity for organizing media files. A split screen interface facilitates drag-and-drop of media files between the BlackBerry Curve and the computer which will allow users to easily search for media files, view and organize them, create MP3 music files from CDs, add audio tags create playlists and automatically copy or convert pictures, music and videos for optimal playback between the smartphone and the computer.
The BlackBerry Curve has already been rolled out in many other Asian countries such as India and Australia.
