Microsoft has said it has released two updates for Windows Vista. The updates fixes a number of graphics problems, spooler issues, and display driver errors.

The patch comes almost a week after unauthorised copies of the updates started appearing on the net. The other fix, KB938979, fixes a number of bugs including memory leaks, delays exiting hibernation, file corruption problems writing AVIs, and poor memory management. Currently, both patches are available through the MS download centre.

The software giant also confirmed that Vista Service Pack 1 was in pre-beta testing, and that Service Pack 3 for Windows XP was also in testing with a release expected early next year.

Each of the Vista patches must be installed individually and both require Windows validation, plus a plug-in tool if you use a Firefox browser.

The Windows Vista fix promises to take care of a variety of issues, The first fix addresses a number of video driver issues, playback of high-definition content, printing issues, as well as some other random issues.
