Cisco has announced that it has completed its acquisition of privately-held Meetinghouse Data Communications Inc., to enhanced its wireless security market.
Meetinghouse Data Communications is a provider of a client-side 802.1X supplicant security software that allows enterprise customers to restrict network access to only authorized users and/or host devices attempting to gain access to networked resources through both wired and wireless media. The integration of Meetinghouse's AEGIS SecureConnect products into Cisco's portfolio opens the door for Cisco to offer a single, unified wired and wireless client to enterprise customers.
The company agreed to buy held Meetinghouse in July for about USD 43.7 million. Meetinghouse staff and products have been integrated into Cisco's Wireless Networking Business Unit, reporting into vice president and general manager, Brett Galloway. The Meetinghouse products have been integrated into the Cisco product portfolio and are available for order on the Cisco Global Price List.
