Ericsson to Build MiTV’s 3G/HSPA Network in Malaysia

 

 

Ericsson has signed a contract with MiTV Corporation Sdn Bhd (MiTV) to build, operate, manage and maintain its 3G/HSPA network. Under the agreement, Ericsson will provide MiTV with a complete 3G core and radio network, including HSPA, microwave transmission, multimedia solutions, and related services The agreement also includes a managed services contract for Ericsson to operate, manage, and maintain MiTV’s network upon completion.

Dato’ Ir Rosman Ridzwan, MiTV’s Chairman says, "MiTV is confident in delivering a solid next-generation mobile network infrastructure as well as innovative content, application and services to the consumers at large. We aim to be the preferred 3G-service provider for users who want superior quality, exciting and multimedia enriched mobile communication services. By providing HSPA, we can assure that our subscribers that they will receive network quality, reliability and unprecedented user experience. In addition, with our broadcasting arm, MiTV is well positioned to maximise opportunities both within and outside the ICT sectors, further enhancing the digital opportunities for development in Malaysia."

"Given our high ambitions, we need a strong and reliable partner with proven track record to ensure our success. We believe that Ericsson is best suited for this job," he says, adding that by entering into this partnership with Ericsson, MiTV is able to meet the deadline set by MCMC.
