Siemens and Juniper have revealed that Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) has deployed Juniper Networks SDX Service Deployment System and E-series Broadband Services Routers to support the introduction of new IP services, including a new bandwidth on demand service. With the E-series and SDX, SingTel customers will be able to request and change their bandwidth metrics, throttling connection speeds from 125 Kbps up to as much as 25 Mbps, the company said.
"The SDX-300 enables us to offer new services, such as on-demand bandwidth, without adding operational complexity to our network," said Tan Seow Nguan, SingTel's Director of Network Systems Engineering.
The Juniper Networks E-series Broadband Services Router is a central component of SingTel's broadband edge network, delivering features and capabilities that ensure QoS, support high availability and improve automation for services, claimed the company.
