Netgear Expands Smart Switch Offerings with new 24-port Smart POE Switch |

NETGEAR’s family tree of Smart Switches has branched out to include a new arrival –the Prosafe 24 Port 10/100 with four Gigabit Ports and 24 Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) Ports (FS728TP).
According to the provider of branded networking products, the FS728TP has the capacity to support 802.3af (PoE) on all 24 10/100 ports, is easy-to-use and scalable. It blends management capabilities, advanced security and Quality of Service (QoS) features to deliver a tool applicable to small and medium sized businesses deploying PoE-enabled infrastructure devices such as VoIP phones, wireless access points and IP surveillance cameras.
“The launch of the FS728TP is the ideal solution for businesses and organizations that want to take advantage of the cost-savings, convenience, flexibility and increased productivity from advance, converged applications like IP telephony,” explained Sanjay Kumar, Product Line Manager of NETGEAR.
Other FS78TP features include:
• Non-blocking wire-speed architecture that delivers a 12.8 Gbps switching capacity for maximum data throughput • Access Control List (ACF) filtering • 802.1x port authentication • Enhanced QoS for prioritization of voice traffic, rate limiting and IGMP snooping. • Supports SNMP v1, v2 and v3 for management and is optimized for use with ProSafe Network Management Software (NSM100) or other SNMP-based management software
