Apple is launching its most awaited iPhone towards the end of June. AT&T Chief Operating Officer (COO) Randall Stephenson said, "This is going to be a test of the true user interface capabilities of this, because this will be the first time to touch one of these... You talk about what brings ease of use into play, this is it."
The phone is on schedule said Glenn Lurie, president of AT&T's national distribution. He is not perturbed by comments made by rival companies that the cost of the phone is rather steep and would make buyers think twice before buying it. The phone’s estimated retail price is USD 600.
“We're very comfortable where the price point is,” Lurie said. “We will let the sales do the talking.”
"Our expectations are good. Our testing has been good," he added. "The iPhone is on target to launch in June", he continued.
Stephenson did not mention how many devices will be released. He said, We're sorting through that right now". He also added, "We got a million people waiting to buy it so we're hoping we get a million."
