Mobile E-Mail Firms End Long Dispute

Visto Corp. and Seven Networks Inc., the two mobile email firms in midst of a patent battle have settled their differences with a licensing agreement.

According to the deal, Seven will license technology from Visto and acknowledges the validity and enforceability of Visto's patents under the settlement.

Redwood Shores, California based Visto had sued Seven for allegedly infringing on three of its patents on wireless e-mail. A judge ruled in favour of Visto in 2006 and asked Seven to pay USD7.7 million in damages. Both companies have decided to withdraw all cases against each other.
