Fujitsu Asia Unveils Primary-based SAP Discovery System version 3 for Enterprise SOA in ASEAN

Leading regional IT and communications solutions provider Fujitsu Asia today announced the SAP Discovery System version 3 for Enterprise SOA, an out-of-the-box prototype, demo and learning environment for enterprise service-oriented architecture (ESOA).

Designed to encourage SOA adoption, the SAP Discovery System version 3 includes the SAP ERP, SAP NetWeaver and other business applications. These applications run on the quad-core, Xeon-based Primergy TX300 S4 Windows 2003 tower server by Fujitsu Asia.

The Primergy TX300 S4 can automatically restore the SAP Discovery System to its factory settings after testing, thus ensuring a risk-free and cost-effective environment for SOA evaluation and training. As a result, end-users are able to evaluate different business processes – designed using standards-based enterprise web services – using original data each time.

“The unique features of the Primergy TX300 S4 provide an ideal platform for businesses to quickly start proof-of-concept projects and learn more about enterprise SOA by using the SAP Discovery System,” said Mr Tom Kobayashi, Director of Solutions Marketing, Fujitsu Asia.

“In addition, the SAP Discovery System represents a simple way for application specialists, IT managers and enterprise infrastructure managers to immediately engage in their business objectives without having to install, configure and integrate the necessary SAP solutions.”

The SAP Discovery System version 3 is constantly updated with new SAP-developed software patches containing business and technology templates that enable customers to accelerate proof-of-concept projects and reduce evaluation times. Additionally, the system utilises the MaxDB 7.6 relational database management system from SAP which offers free database licences for customers’ use.

Fujitsu also offers end-users – especially those new to the SAP NetWeaver platform – various forms of assistance, including:
• introductory workshops
• SOA scenario recommendations
• installation and/or scenario development support

The SAP Discovery System version 3 is available for the ASEAN, including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam markets with immediate effect.
