CBL Data Recovery Reduces Impact on Businesses when Infallible RAIDs Fail

CBL Data Recovery Technologies has unveiled its Rapid RAID Recovery Service designed to reduce corporate server downtime, accelerate server restoration and expedite the recovery of data when corporate RAID arrays fail.

In a prepared statement, CBL said that services extended include sending its staff over to collect the failed hard drives from the customer, take the drives to the CBL laboratory for evaluation, provide a detailed quote, and then proceed with the data recovery upon receipt of the customer’s approval. In the meantime, IT staff can rebuild the RAID array often described as infallible in anticipation of receipt of the successfully recovered data.

RAID arrays do fail for numerous reasons and often IT staff is not aware that one or more of the redundant disks have failed. The most common causes of fallible RAID arrays are heat, vibration, power surges, quality of components, and firmware changes.

“CBL understands the urgency that is required when RAID arrays fail,” states Ms. Ferhana Ashiblie, General Manager of CBL Data Recovery Technologies (S) Pte. Ltd.

“While our customer rebuilds the server and restores functionality, CBL staff work around the clock to ensure the data is recovered and returned to them so they once again have access to their vital historical records. If this means picking up hard drives on the other side of the island at 3 o’clock in the morning, then we will. And we have!”

Adds Ms. Ashiblie, “If enterprises have a multi-disk system, they can lessen the impact on their business when their RAID fails by following these simple steps. They can be back online before the next business day begins. Frequently, employees arrive Monday morning and are seldom aware that the company had suffered a major server shutdown over the weekend! CBL’s goal is to rescue the critical data stored on the drives, not to repair the RAID array. CBL’s Rapid RAID Service helps to minimize data loss and business disruptions.”
