In an effort to add more alluring features to YouTube, Google has acquired an online video startup Omnisio.
Google said it plans to fold the start-up company's technology for mixing online videos and adding comments to videos into its YouTube video site.
The price of this acquisition is not being disclosed, but many hear the deal is all cash and is in the USD 15 million range.
The co-founders of Omnisio, Ryan Junee, Julian Frumar and Simon Ratner, have tremendous expertise in advanced video tools, which will be useful in efforts to find ways to improve the user experience of YouTube, said YouTube officials in a blog post announcing the acquisition.
Launched in March this year, Omnisio allows users to mash up various YouTube clips and stitch them together to make their own videos or slideshare presentations with extra comments, audio, and images overlaid on top. |
