Global Crossing Deploys Juniper Networks T-Series

Global Crossing has selected Juniper Networks T-Series core routing platforms as part of its next generation worldwide networks backbone.

Juniper Networks M-series platforms were also part of an earlier deployment in Global Crossing's worldwide network. The M-series platforms support applications such as VoIP aggregation and peering, and because the T-series platforms share the same JUNOS operating system, Global Crossing is able to reduce operation expenses by simplifying network management.

A single release of JUNOS runs across all Juniper M- and T-series routing platforms, reducing network complexity and ensuring consistent operation.

'Global Crossing's next generation core network supports both current and future voice, video and multimedia services,' said Shailesh Shukla, vice president of service provider marketing and partnerships, Juniper Networks. 'It is always gratifying when a leading network operator such as Global Crossing validates Juniper's JUNOS vision for an agile and open network.'
