Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd. (HKEx), one of Asia’s largest international stock exchanges, has upgraded the network infrastructure and performance for its recently revamped Trading Hall with Nortel Ethernet switching solution.
The upgraded network is designed to deliver reliable Terabit performance to traders and other network users, and to securely handle the end-to-end transport of all types of application data well into the future.
The Nortel solution provides the HKEx Trading Hall with a new 10/100 Mbps Layer 2 Ethernet LAN infrastructure based on the Nortel Ethernet Switch 470 working in combination with an existing Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch 8600 backbone.
The solution features Nortel Split Multi-Link Trunking (SMLT) technology designed to ensure high service availability by eliminating any single point of failure in the network.
